Workshops
Groups and Teams
There are two types of ‘group work’.
-
Focused on teaching and providing information on psychology, teaching new skills etc.
-
Focused on change within the group during the sessions, e.g. helping team members understand each other, improve communication, and improve dynamics to improve performance etc.
There are many areas where I can be of use, some examples are included below.
Teaching and Providing Information (examples)
-
Sessions to help participants understand ourselves as humans, our functioning etc.
-
How coaches can increase understanding of players / athletes
-
Assertiveness training
-
Mindfulness to help focus at critical times
-
Emotion Regulation
Enabling Changes within the Session (examples)
-
Understanding of group dynamics to help communication and cohesion in a team
-
Emotional regulation and interpersonal management. Helping people understand emotions, how to manage them and then deal with situations that have led to the difficult emotions
-
Visualisation
-
Communication skills
To help Managers and Coaches manage People (examples)
-
Supervision to coaches / managers to help understand team dynamics, systemic issues to help improve team functioning. Supervision provides a structured 'space' to uncover the difficulties that hinder performance
-
Helping coaches / managers understand athletes / individuals to aid their interaction, e.g. why some people follow suggestions and others don't
-
Help adapt training plans / daily routines to maximise people's potential.
-
Adapt communication to increase people's learning
Costs – there are many factors determining cost so please contact me to discuss.
As workshops are designed to meet client's individual needs it is
preferable to contact me so we can discuss further.
An example...
This was designed to help a team initially gain a basic understanding of themselves and their functioning (as individuals and as a team), to then enable them to focus on how to adapt in their given field of expertise (cycling).

This then led onto...
'Focusing and mindfulness' - an interactive session
This was designed to help elite cyclists cope with the multiple demands and distractions at the times of high stress, i.e. in race, training sessions as well as group pressures.
